Tokyo Game Show 2019 is in full swing, and there’ve been so many brand new trailers, gameplay videos, and release date reveals already that we hardly know where to start. So we’ve gathered together some of the biggest reveals of Tokyo Game Show so far and compiled them into one handy list.

Which of these are you most looking forward to playing?

1. You can play as Mr X in Resident Evil: Project Resistance

It’s four versus one in this multiplayer survival horror game, but don’t go thinking that either side has it easy. The team of four have a simple goal: survive and escape. Fortunately, they’re a talented bunch with hacking skills, fighting prowess, and healing abilities too. The Mastermind, meanwhile, has access to a plethora of zombies, traps, cameras, and tricks to prevent them from getting out alive. And let’s not forget the Mastermind’s ultimate weapon: the ability to possess and fight as the inimitable Mr X. Pick your side carefully, now…

2. The newest Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer is packed with tiny details

So many details! There are glimpses of powerful summons Ifrit and Shiva, a huge hologram of bad guy President Shinra, fan-favourites Reno and Rude and the black ops Turks unit, a rhythm-game style minigame in the gym, and even the creepy Don Corneo. Meanwhile, we also learned that when hit with the “Toad” status effect, Cloud’s new amphibian form carries a teeny tiny Buster Sword. Cute!

3. You can play the harmonica in Death Stranding

Along with the above trailer, we’ve been treated to a whopping 49 minutes of Death Stranding gameplay, and while we’re still a little hazy on the game’s plot, we’ve learned some very important new things. Main character Sam can hitch a ride on his cargo hoverboard, throw heavy bits of cargo at nearby baddies, recharge his batteries (literally) in a hot spring, and play the harmonica to soothe his BB (that’s a creepy cooing baby in a pod, obviously).

4. The Kingdom Hearts III: ReMind DLC contains some familiar faces

We’ve not heard much about the Kingdom Hearts III ReMind DLC since its last appearance just before E3 2019, and now we’ve had another glimpse that’s got us craving more Disney magic. As well as seeing Sora take on Organization XIII once again, we also caught a glimpse of Naminé as well as another iconic trio: Ventus, Aqua, and Terra. While there’s not a concrete release date just yet, we can expect the DLC to be out sometime this winter.

5. Shenmue III looks so pretty we might cry

The newest Shenmue III trailer is described as a “mood video”, and that sums it up pretty well. It’s filled with sweeping mountain landscapes and winding rivers, ancient temples under starry skies, and colourful markets in flickering torchlight. Basically, it’s beautiful and the music’s lovely too.
