The Boys Amazon Prime

The Boys has become one of the most watched shows on Amazon Prime, thanks to its hilarious subversion of superhero stories. However, with the first season clocking in at eight episodes, it’s over quicker than you can say “Wow, I should not have watched this show on the train into work”.

While Season 2 is already being filmed (and it really can’t come soon enough), there are a few things you can do to help ease the wait for the next batch of episodes, and that’s playing games that share a few similarities with the show. We’ve done our homework and rustled up 5 games that are perfect for after you’ve binged The Boys.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite

Marvel Capcom

If The Boys gives us a taster of human-on-supes combat, then Marvel vs Capcom delivers a banquet of it, with the likes of Chris Redfield, Chun-Li, and Dead Rising’s Frank West all going toe-to-toe with Marvel’s finest. Of course, we don’t know if the Marvel gang are as diabolical as The Seven, but it’s still fun to throw a few punches at them.

The Wolf Among Us

Wolf Among Us

The Boys’ intriguing premise – of a world where superheroes exist but aren’t exactly heroes – is mirrored in The Wolf Among Us. This narrative-driven adventure follows fairytale characters who exist in our world, but come with a lot of emotional baggage. If you liked The Boys for its take on superheroes, The Wolf Among Us is a similarly subversive treat.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Wolverine

The Boys isn’t scared to throw around the ol’ body ketchup, and neither is X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Whether it’s watching Logan tear hunks of flesh from his enemies or queasily watching his wounds heal in real time, this is the perfect follow-up to some of The Boys’ grosser moments.

Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs 2

Here’s a game that focuses on a ramshackle group, operating outside of the law, who are trying to hold a large corporation to account over their misuse of a powerful technology. Replace the world ‘technology’ with ‘superheroes’ and you have a pretty similar set-up. Fortunately, it’s much easier to take on big tech than a pack of maniacal superheroes.

Ecco The Dolphin

Ecoo The Dolphin

That dolphin scene might be one of the best in the show, so let’s pretend that Ecco The Dolphin is actually a game based on an alternate history where it actually managed to escape. R.I.P Deep’s Dolphin. Gone, but never forgotten.
