Nintendo are teasing a major Pokémon announcement at 2pm on 27 February and you can watch it right here.
They’ll be holding a livestream presentation to unveil “roughly 7 minutes of new information”, which is accompanied with a shot of three Pokéballs. That could be the biggest hint yet that we’ll be seeing the next generation, referred to as Gen 8, of Pokémon games, as three Pokéballs are what you choose from at the start of your adventures in the game.
A ‘Core RPG’ Pokémon adventure for Nintendo Switch was first announced back at E3 2017, but little has been revealed since, which is why we’re chomping at the bit to see what will be revealed in the Pokémon Direct.
The date is pretty important, as it’s also Pokémon Day, marking the anniversary when Pokémon Red and Green first came out in Japan (That’s not a typo, Green was exclusive to Japan at the time, while the rest of the world got Pokémon Blue).
On top of Nintendo’s announcement, Pokémon Go will also be celebrating the day with Kanto region Pokémon more likely to appear in game, shiney versions of Rattata and Pidgey appearing, and a new look for Pikachu and Eevee. Click here for more details.
Once you’ve done that, head back here at 2pm on 27 February to watch the Pokémon Direct with us!
