Ubisoft have unveiled Roller Champions as part of their E3 press conference, showcasing a free-to-play sports game loosely based on roller derby.
Like in roller derby, players skate around an indoor circuit and can body check other players. Unlike the real-life sport, however, points are scored in Roller Champions by throwing a ball through a glowing hoop hanging high up in the arena.
On stage at the Ubisoft E3 conference, the developer said that the aim of Roller Champions was that “we wanted to create something new”. And it certainly looks unique.
Roller Champions is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and although no release date was given, there’s a pre-alpha demo available from Uplay until 14th June.
