How to play Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC

Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind

Last year Kingdom Hearts fans were treated to the long-awaited third instalment in the series that smushes Disney and Final Fantasy together. Kingdom Hearts III may have arrived more than a decade after the last numbered entry to the series, but thankfully we didn’t have to wait nearly that long for the next chapter in Sora’s story. The DLC expansion Re Mind is out now on PlayStation 4.

As Re Mind is a follow-up to Kingdom Hearts III’s ending, you will need to already own the game as a physical or digital purchase. Then you’ll need a cleared save file – meaning that you have to have beaten the final boss and completed the main story. Once you have both those things squared away, install the DLC from the PlayStation Store, download the latest game updates, and you’ll be ready to play.

Navigate to the Downloadable Content option from the game’s main menu and you will be prompted to load your cleared save file and begin the Re Mind DLC.

Re Mind sees Sora returning to the events of Kingdom Hearts III’s final world to retrieve Kairi’s heart and stop Xehanort’s dastardly plans once again. Along the way, we’ll learn more about Organization XIII and the mysterious Master of Masters.

The DLC includes some of the toughest bosses from the main game as well as a new Limitcut mode, featuring a challenging lineup of 13 battles. We advise loading up your most advanced save file to take on the challenges ahead!

Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind is out now on PlayStation 4 and launches on Xbox One on 25 February.
