Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting not one, but two extended beta weekends to give players a chance to test out some of the new modes and gameplay mechanics that are coming to the game. During the beta, you will be able to get hands-on with a variety of maps and modes, including the 2v2 Gunfight mode, 6v6 matches, and larger player-count battles. You can also get accustomed to new operators, loadouts, killstreaks, and field upgrades.
Weekend 1: PlayStation Exclusive Beta
When you can access the beta depends on which platform you are looking to play on. The first beta weekend is exclusive to PlayStation, and runs from Thursday 12 September to Monday 16 September. Players who have pre-ordered can access the beta from 12-13, and all PS4 gamers can get in on the action from 14-16. What’s more, you won’t even need PlayStation Plus to access it! You can get in on the PlayStation open beta completely free of charge. If you have pre-ordered your copy, make sure to check your email for a beta code, which you can redeem on your console to gain access.
Weekend 2: Crossplay Beta
In the second beta weekend, PC and Xbox One Gold players can enter the fight. This second beta will run from Thursday 19 September to Monday 23 September. During this time all PS4 gamers will be able to access the beta. Players on Xbox and PC who placed a pre-order will be able to access the beta from 19-20, whereas the beta will open up to all players, on all platforms, from 21-23. No matter which platform you are playing on, you can preload the beta ready for when it unlocks for you.
That’s all you need to know to get started with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta! Be sure to pre-order to gain early access to the beta and enjoy the full Modern Warfare experience when the game launches on 25 October.
