That iconic top hat can mean only one thing – Professor Layton is back to solve another head-scratching mystery. This mild-mannered gentleman is the titular star of the puzzle game series which has become a firm favourite for Nintendo fans. Layton is so popular he even got his own movie! Now, we just need to find out where he got that spiffing headwear.

This legendary comic-book hero is many things: a silent guardian, a watchful protector, and indeed, a dark knight. But Bruce Wayne has also been known as the ‘world’s greatest detective’ and with his arsenal of high-tech gadgets it’s not hard to see why. Batman has had some amazing video game appearances – most notably Rocksteady’s Arkham series and Telltale’s Batman: The Enemy Within. This caped crusader isn’t infalible though, as demonstrated by these five times he was totally flummoxed by The Joker.
