Oh, and here’s that Ghost Recon ad, if you haven’t seen it yet.

1. Mad World – Gears of War

This advert for the first Gears of War changed the game. The groundbreaking in-game visuals, mixed with Gary Jules’ haunting rendition of Mad World had just about every gamer on the planet desperate for an Xbox 360.

2. Believe – Halo 3

Similar to the aforementioned Gears ad, this commercial for Halo 3 deftly played on the emotions of fans, with melancholy music accompanying shots of an epic diorama depicting a pivotal battle against the Covenant.

3. Long Live Play – PlayStation

This incredible ad sees heroes from the biggest titles of the generation gather to celebrate the most important person in their world – the player. See how many iconic characters you can spot!

4. Mr T – World of Warcraft

Mr T gets a spot on this list because, well… he’s Mr T. The A-Team star introducing his Night-Elf Mohawk was easily the most memorable WoW TV spot, but there were a bunch of other celebrities involved in this campaign too including Ozzy Osborne, William Shatner, and Chuck Norris.

5. Kevin Butler – PlayStation 3

In this ad campaign, Sony brilliantly poked fun at themselves with fictitious exec, Kevin Butler, Director of Rumour Confirmation. Butler’s most famous appearance is probably this ad, in which he not-so-subtly reveals the PS3 price drop.
