1. Live gameplay of Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima took to the stage at the inaugural Gamescom Opening Night Live to offer up the first live gameplay of his much-anticipated surreal adventure game, Death Stranding. We got new looks at characters Mama and Deadman, as well as small slice of the game in action, which you can check out below. November seems so far away…

2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting an alpha

PlayStation fans, clear your weekend schedule. It’s been revealed that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha is going live this weekend on PS4, and everyone will be able to take part. From 23-25 August, you’ll be able to try out the new 2vs2 mode, Gunfight, on 5 new multiplayer maps.

3. Marvel’s Avengers trailer goes live

We might be past the Endgame, but a new Avengers adventure is beginning next year on consoles. Square-Enix have revealed the first look at their Avenger’s game in action, which shows how each hero will handle themselves during the game’s opening moments.

4. Need for Speed: Heat is getting a lot of customisation options

Things got a little hotter on the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream when Need for Speed: Heat raced into view. That’s because it gave us a look at all the ways we’ll be able to customise cars and our avatars when the game launches this November.

5. Little Nightmares 2 is releasing in 2020

This sequel might have caught us by surprise, but we can’t wait to revisit the twisted world of Little Nightmares. This time around, you’ll be playing as a child called Mono, who appears to have a helping hand from a distinctive figure in a yellow jacket…

6. Erica’s surprise release

Erica is an interactive, live-action thriller where you look to unravel the mystery behind the death of the father of the titular character. We don’t know what’s more exciting, the fact there are multiple endings to discover, or that it’s already out now.

7. The Witcher 3’s Nintendo Switch version gets a release date

It’s The Witcher 3! On Nintendo Switch! If that isn’t exciting enough, the fact that we now know we’ll be able to take Geralt for relaxing baths on-the-go from 15 October should do it.
