Love Fortnite as much as we do? You’ve come to the right place, as we’re rounding up all the biggest news about one of the biggest games in the world right now!
Epic have announced that Season 4 is “coming soon”, with a teasing image of what to expect from the shooter’s upcoming season. The dapper individual on the right seems to suggest that Season 4 will have a superhero theme. We’re certainly excited at the prospect of taking to the battlefield in a colourful cape and some spandex.
There’s no date for Season 4 yet, but with Season 3 due to end on Thursday of next week, it’ll undoubtedly be swooping in in the very near future.
This week saw the arrival of the v3.6 update. Along with some tweaks to make your Battle Royale experience smoother than ever, the patch also introduced a new grenade – the Clinger. This nifty device sticks to your environment or enemies and explodes a short time later – 2.5 seconds to be exact. You’ll find this uncommon item in Floor Loot, Supply Drops, Supply Llamas, and Treasure Chests.
Season 3’s week-ten challenges are now live for Battle Pass owners, giving you new ways to earn Battle Stars and experience. Also added this week were the Rabbit Raider & Bunny Brawler Outfits, so if you feel like taking on opponents in a rabbit-themed onesie, hop on over to the store where they’re available for a limited time only.
Elsewhere, 13-year-old Londoner Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson became one of the youngest players ever to be recruited by a professional eSports team after joining Team Secret’s pro Fortnite squad.
Following an ’emergency broadcast’ depicting a llama on top of a test pattern, the massive chunks of rock that have been looming over Fortnite’s Tilted Towers map are finally coming in to land. We’re still in the early stages of this cosmic event however, with the main casualties so far being trees. This meteor apocalypse is likely to ramp up in intensity over the week, so watch out for falling rocks that could swiftly bring an end to your killing spree. Will this event mark the end of Tilted Towers? We’ll have to wait and see!
Replay of the week
And finally, Fortnite’s new replay feature not only lets you replay matches to tighten up your shooting skills, it also allows you to make your own videos. Epic recently held a Replay Royale contest for fans to try out their movie making skills. Among the most impressive was this entry by Twitter user Enzait.
And that’s it for this week. Happy hunting, Fortniters!
