Get paid to teach esports at this University

Love the Overwatch League? Can’t get enough League of Legends comps? Think you know esports inside out? Well, Staffordshire University is looking for an esports lecturer!

A job listing on the university’s website reveals that they’re recruiting for a new “BA (Hons) Esports degree” that starts in September and will be the first of its kind in England.

The ideal candidate for the lecturer role will “be an enthusiastic, reliable, flexible lecturer with business experience and an ambition to undertake research, scholarly activity, consultancy or income generating activities.”

While a knowledge of esports isn’t demanded by the job ad, we imagine that all those hours watching professional Rocket League will give you a competitive edge.

The degree itself will see students learning how to manage the business side of esports, from setting up events and teams, to learning how to promote them.

On top of that, there are also six competitive esports societies at Staffordshire University, with teams that focus on League of Legends, DOTA2, Hearthstone, Counter Strike, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros!

If you feel like you’ve got what it takes to pass on your esports knowledge, you can apply here!
