A brand new Sims 4 expansion pack, Island Living, has just been announced at E3 2019! And that’s not all…

The Polynesian-themed expansion will let you move to an idyllic tropical island, complete with azure seas, palm trees, and… active volcanoes? And was that a mermaid we just saw?

Build a cosy cabana on the beach, or a modern getaway of your dreams on stilts in the sea, and fill it to the brim with gorgeous new Polynesian-themed items and decor. Just try not to build it too close to that volcano.

Your Sims can swim, float, and snorkel in the clear water, or if you want to get from A to B a little more quickly, board a boat or grab a handy aqua zip. Explore the island and learn about its culture from the locals, visit a beach barbecue or festival, or learn to prepare a special local island drink. There are also ancient spirits called elementals to encounter around the island.

You can even get a new job to fit in with your new island life: earn Simoleons from fishing, lifeguarding, or being a diving instructor, or turn your beach-cleaning hobby into a whole new career as a conservationist.

Or if that’s all sounding like too much hard work, relax on the beach, build a few sandcastles, and get a tan… or some major sunburn.

Get to know the friendly dolphins around the beach, or explore coral reefs with their shoals of colourful tropical fish. And there’s one more thing to look out for in the water: mermaids! Find them in the world, or build them from scratch in Create-A-Sim, and experiment with their mysterious powers.

But that’s not all that’s coming to The Sims 4. Also announced was a brand new partnership with the It Gets Better Project, which will be incorporating Pride products, clothing, and gender neutral bathrooms into the game. The Pride content will be available from 18 June in The Sims 4, and rolling out to mobile later.

There’s also a brand new Moschino Stuff Pack coming to glam up your Sims’ lives, with a brand new career included. Make the most of all your glorious new fashion items by taking on a part-time job as a freelance fashion photographer.

And last, but certainly not least: a new game pack is on its way too this autumn! The Realm of Magic pack will be the latest magical addition to the Sims 4 lineup, with more details on their way later this year.
