Season 2 is called “Battle Charge”, and the developers are cramming in as much as they possibly can to its launch. There’ll be a brand new Legend (and we’ve heard she’s a real bright spark), new weapons, new ways to play the game, and much more. There may even be a new map event…

The new weapon will be familiar to fans of Titanfall 2. The L-Star is a plasma-fueled EMG. The developers describe it as being “so OP” that you can only get it in Care Packages, and because it doesn’t use existing ammo, what you get with the weapon is all you’ll have. Use it wisely!

There are also two new hop ups on their way, and many weapons will be tweaked to become more powerful, with a certain “meme-able weapon” (cough cough Mozambique) getting tweaked to the point that it might even be useable. Miraculous!

The Battle Pass, meanwhile, will bring you a ton of new content, including daily and weekly challenges which will stack, so if you can’t play for a while you’ll be able to work your way through a pile of them in one go.

Next on the list is the new limited time event, Legendary Hunt, which will last until June 18th.

Those Legends that finish in the top 5 in any match will enter the Apex Elite queue, where they can test their skills against the most talented Legends in the game. There’ll be new Legendary Hunt challenges which you can complete to earn rewards, many of which are season exclusives.

The Elite Queue is just the first step on the way to a higher competitive stage in the future, with a Ranked Mode on its way. There’ll be 6 tiers to work your way through, with matchmaking ensuring that you’re faced with worthy opponents from Bronze rank right through to Apex Predator.

A giant eye was also spotted looming over Kings Canyon at the end of the reveal… what do you think this enormous creature could be?

Look out for Season 2 soon, and if you jump into Apex Legends right now, you’ll be able to make the most of Double XP weekend, which lasts until June 9!
