6 things to look out for at this year’s E3

E3 Look out
Halo Infinite

With E3 2019 only a month away, we’re getting real excited about what will be on show at this year’s gaming extravaganza. Until then though, we’re going to make some educated guesses at what could be the biggest talking points from E3 2019!

1. What will be revealed at the Xbox conference?

While we’ve already taken a look at what we can expect from Xbox at this year’s E3, you should definitely make sure you’re watching their conference at 9pm BST on Sunday 9 June. Halo Infinite and Gears 5 are set to appear, but we’re crossing our fingers that we might see the new consoles that Phil Spencer mentioned during last year’s show. Plus, we might get to see more of Microsoft’s streaming service, Project xCloud. This could be a huge year for Xbox at E3.

2. A new look at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

We were blown away by the trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that was shown off at Star Wars Celebration. With EA Play returning to the weekend before E3, we’ll be getting another look at Apex Legend’s creators Respawn’s single-player Star Wars adventure. With God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen working on it as well, we sense that this could be the Star Wars game we’ve been looking for.

3. What games will be on show during Nintendo Direct?

We love taking our Switch everywhere, which is why we think you should take a late lunch to catch Nintendo Direct on Tuesday 11 June at 5pm BST. There’s no officially confirmed games just yet, but we’re crossing our fingers for more on Animal Crossing and Pokémon Sword/Shield, as well as Luigi’s Mansion 3. Whatever turns up, we reckon you’ll be playing it on your commute by this time next year.

4. Who will turn up at the E3 Coliseum?

Last year’s E3 Coliseum talk show panels saw the likes of Hideo Kojima, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, and Bethesda’s Todd Howard talk about their upcoming games. Simply put, some of the biggest developers in the world swung by the E3 Coliseum in 2018, and with it returning in 2019, you can expect more fascinating insights away from the show floor.

5. Another look at Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077’s trailer and behind-closed-doors demo was one of the most exciting things at last year’s show, and CD Projekt Red have already confirmed they’ll be back for E3 2019. In what capacity, we don’t know, but we’re ready to sell a few organs for cybernetic implants if it means we get a release date at this year’s show. Another trailer will do quite nicely though…

6. Netflix are coming to E3

We knew we were getting a Stranger Things 3 game, but the good news doesn’t stop there. Netflix are hosting a panel at the E3 Coliseum, which will be all about turning hit Netflix Originals into video games. Which series could be getting the video game treatment next?
