What’s really exciting is that the world has been co-created with George R.R. Martin, who you might know as the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire books, which were turned into the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.

The announcement trailer for Elden Ring shows off a fantasy world undergoing a dark age, due to the shattering of the magical ring of the game’s title. We also get glimpses of a whole range of peculiar folk, including crestfallen knights, a blacksmith, and a strange scene with a man holding up a severed arm.

Elden Ring is being published by Bandai Namco and is confirmed to be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
