Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s new battle royale mode has been shown off for the first time in a new trailer.
Activision’s Private Beta trailer gives us a quick glimpse of what we can expect from the huge battle royale mode around 1 minute and 25 seconds in.
The explosive footage packs in a lot in a very short space of time. To begin with, we can spot a whole host of Black Ops characters from throughout the series’ timeline.
This includes returning favourites Frank Woods and Edward Richtofen, alongside Diego Necalli and Bruno Delacroix, who are being introduced in Black Ops 4’s zombie mode.
Several blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cuts also seem to show off parts of the massive new map, including locations that look similar to Nuketown and Zombies map, Verruckt.
The beta for Blackout will go live in September, and you’ll have to pop-in a pre-order if you want to try it early.
What else was revealed?
The rest of the Private Beta trailer gives us a new look at Black Ops 4’s multiplayer mode, with its PS4-exclusive beta going live on August 3rd.
We now know that there’ll be 10 playable Specialists to choose from, as well as 6 maps and 6 game modes to try out. On top of that, beta players will have the chance to get their hands on new weapons, scorestreaks, and equipment.
But if you don’t have a PS4, there’s no need to despair. A second beta period for console and PC players kicks off on the 10th of August and runs through to the 13th.
We loved what we played back at the community reveal in May, and this huge new look has us desperate to reacquaint ourselves with the blistering shooter.
