How to get access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s private beta

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s multiplayer betas will be hitting consoles and PC in August.

The private beta for Treyarch’s shooter will be available first on PS4, with a PS4 exclusive period kicking off on August the 3rd and running to August the 6th.

There will then be another console beta from August the 10th to August the 13th, for both PS4 and Xbox One players.

PC players haven’t been forgotten either, with a PC open beta running from August the 11th to the 13th for anyone with a battle.net account.

What’s in the Black Ops 4 private beta?

Well, developers Treyarch have confirmed a few things so far.

This early taste of the multiplayer mode comes with 6 maps, according to Treyarch’s director of communications & social media John Rafacz: Frequency, Payload, Contraband, Seaside, Hacienda, and Gridlock.

You’ll also have a choice of 5 game modes to enjoy with returning favourites Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search & Destroy, along with a new match type: Control. Here, teams take it in turns to attack and defend objectives, in a tactical mode that requires strong teamwork.

We had a chance to play a round of Control at the Black Ops 4 reveal event, which you can check out below.

Finally, those who take part in the beta will get a unique calling card to display in-game, while every player that manages to hit the max rank during the beta will get a permanent unlock token they can redeem when Black Ops 4 comes out on the 12th of October.
