One of the best things about the Assassin’s Creed series is the way it brings ancient history to life, and one dedicated Reddit user has gone a step further by visiting and photographing one game’s iconic real-life locations.
While visiting Greece, arisu-chan put together an incredible album of photos of the stunning locations that form the settings of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Plus, they’re all interspersed with their in-game counterparts so you can compare the two.
You can really see how much love went into recreating these iconic buildings, and the fact that they’re so instantly recognisable proves that video games can be super educational (as well as incredibly fun).
And although the world has obviously changed quite a bit since 431 BCE, it’s a testament to the artistry of Ubisoft that these locations look uncannily accurate!
