Professional soldier Bangalore is an excellent choice if you like fighting on the frontlines, thanks to her ability to outmanoeuvre the enemy when under fire.
Passive Ability: Double Time
Move faster when sprinting under fire.
Tactical Ability: Smoke Launcher
Fire a smoke canister which then explodes into a wall of smoke, allowing you to sneak up close to an enemy or make a quick getaway. This ability has a 25 second cooldown.
Ultimate Ability: Rolling Thunder
Deploy a beacon that calls in a sweeping artillery attack.
Best for: Players who want to take the fight to the opposition.
Use Technological Trapper Bloodhound’s abilities to see through walls and track enemies, even when they think they got away. Their Ultimate Ability even highlights enemy players in the distance.
Passive Ability: Tracker
Clues are left behind by enemies, making them easier to track.
Tactical Ability: Eye of the AllFather
See through walls to discover traps, enemies, and the clues they left behind. Bear in mind that this ability has a cooldown of 35 seconds.
Ultimate Ability: Beast of the Hunt
Move faster and track cold trails. Nobody is escaping you now.
Best for: Crafty players who’d rather lay a trap than go in all guns blazing.
Shielded Fortress is a perfect description for Gibraltar – he’s an absolute tank capable of shielding himself and his teammates, too. Seems like the happiest Champion out of the bunch.
Passive Ability: Gun Shield
Deploy a small shield to protect yourself while you’re aiming down gun sights.
Tactical Ability: Dome of Protection
Block attacks for 15 seconds with a dome-shaped shield. The cooldown is 20 seconds.
Ultimate Ability: Defensive Bombardment
Mark a particular spot and watch as a mortar strike arrives to make things go boom.
Best for: Players who love Overwatch’s Reinhardt.
As her name suggests, Lifeline is a Combat Medic with powerful healing abilities, and fortunately, those abilities extend to also helping herself. Make sure your team has a Lifeline!
Passive Ability: Combat Medic
Summon a shield wall and revive knocked-down teammates. Healing items also take 25% less time to use.
Tactical Ability: D.O.C. Heal Drone
Call in a Drone of Compassion, which gradually heals those nearby. The cooldown is a whopping 60 seconds, so use it wisely.
Ultimate Ability: Care Package
Summon a care package of strong defensive gear which can be used by anyone in your squad.
Best for: Selfless players who know that a healthy squad is a strong squad.
Forward Scout Pathfinder’s abilities are probably some of the most fun to use, because they’re mostly based around ziplines and grappling hooks. Also, this bot has a smiling face in its chest, making him the most adorable Champion.
Passive Ability: Insider Knowledge
Get an advantage over the other team by scanning beacons to find out where the Ring’s next location will be.
Tactical Ability: Grappling Hook
Make a quick getaway with your grappling hook, or grab another player and yank them towards you. With just a 15 second cooldown, this is definitely one of his most useful abilities.
Ultimate Ability: Zipline Gun
As the name suggests, create ziplines to let you travel long distances at speed, and (most importantly), continue to shoot at enemies while you’re doing it. Ziplines don’t disappear and everyone can use them, so use them strategically.
Best for: Players who love theme park rides more than shooting the opposition.
Make use of the Interdimensional Skirmisher’s unique teleporting talents – if you get it right, nobody will see you coming. Get it wrong? Well, you’ll still look cooler than most of the other champions.
Passive Ability: Voices from the Void
Avoid danger thanks to the advance warnings of a mysterious voice. It’s like the Spidey-sense, but you don’t know where it comes from…
Tactical Ability: Into the Void
Avoid all damage by turning invisible and dashing through the void to a safer location. The cooldown is just 20 seconds, but you won’t be able to fire or see enemies while using this ability.
Ultimate Ability: Dimensional Rift
Create temporary portals between two places. They’ll last for 60 seconds at a time.
Best for: Players who like magic tricks and/or had a Goth phase.
You’ll have to unlock this Toxic Trapper before you can use him, but his immunity to his own poisons makes him a powerful character to play as. Some say he is an evil scientist, others reckon he just had some bad beans for lunch.
Passive Ability: Nox Vision
See enemies through gas clouds.
Tactical Ability: Nox Gas Trap
Drop up to 6 toxic gas traps, which release poison gas when triggered. The cooldown is just 12 seconds, making this one a particularly useful ability.
Ultimate Ability: Nox Gas Grenade
Drop a huge cloud of toxic gas that will choke out the opposition.
Best for: Players who prefer to toy with their enemies.
The Holographic Trickster Mirage is a pro at misdirection, with his ability to summon holographic decoys making him a master escape artist. Like with Caustic, you’ll need to unlock Mirage before you can use him.
Passive Ability: Encore!
When knocked down, immediately summon a decoy and turn invisible for 5 seconds.
Tactical Ability: Psyche Out
Confuse enemies with a decoy. The cooldown is just 14 seconds.
Ultimate Ability: Vanishing Act
Turn invisible and send out multiple decoys to throw enemies off your trail.
Best for: Players who like magic tricks and/or the film The Prestige.
