An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player had a bit of surprise yesterday, when Elijah Wood asked to visit her island. That’s right, the Elijah Wood, famous for playing Frodo in Lord of the Rings, and more recently, appearing in TV shows like Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.

The story begins with an Animal Crossing player called Jessa tweeting about having the best turnip prices that day, asking folks to DM if they wanted to come and sell their crop.

Well, Elijah Wood apparently had some turnips to sell, so he contacted Jessa, asking if he could visit her island. Jessa, of course said yes, and Wood arrived on the island to a number of friends who had gathered to witness the rare encounter

Wood got up to plenty on the island, reportedly taking pictures with some of his fans, and commenting on the beautiful decorations of his host’s island. He also asked politely to pick fruit, which is exactly what you could imagine Elijah Wood doing. It’s quite possibly the cutest thing we’ve seen all week.

When he had sold his turnips and made the rounds, he departed, but not before praising Rian Johnson, the director of The Last Jedi.

So there we have the confirmation that even honorary Hobbits play Animal Crossing. And who knows, if you post your turnip prices on a good day, you might be able to help Elijah Wood even more in his mission to conquer the Stalk Market.
